sad to see summer go, but glad to see this from my living room window.

mike's parents are in town and they bought him these lovely flowers - how sweet.

i bought myself 2 cartons of figs at whole foods - also sweet.

we all win.

i've been bad about posting lately. i'd like to blame it on my now-in-process project, a flurry of assorted guests, endless baskets of laundry, and bouts of very efficient cleaning. the truth is that i've been feeling very lounge-y these days. watching movies on a projector in my living room seems so much more appealing than spending time on a computer. anyway, back to work! above, pictures of the project that will soon invade my free time.

i feel like i'm chasing summer as i've been opting for weekends north (where it's hotter) to oakland's cooler temperatures. maybe it's the east coaster in me, but i miss the oppressive heat i grew up with. here are some pics of a blissful labor day weekend in sonoma where i visited some clydesdale horses - or as my dad calls them, "budweiser ponies". more pics to come.
