i don't really mind the crazy rain and hail we've been getting all week since it provides the perfect opportunity to stay inside and knit. but, there's always a small part of me that yearns for a little sunshine. i spent the vast majority of last weekend relaxing on my parents' porch in sonoma...

but all of you folks in new york are getting a serious bout of warm weather, right?

after much deliberation, i finally decided to purchase two persian jajim flatweave rugs that i've been eyeing for some time. while both rugs are in pretty great condition, i love the slightly dulled colors which now make the bedroom and living room seem cozy and lived-in. i'm a sucker for cozy.

i've been trying out different toe variations, which basically means an ongoing process of knitting and unraveling stitches. my toes like a bit of room, so i've opted for a less angled (and therefore less snug) finish. left sock wins. but of course, i prefer the blue so i ended up undoing both socks. 

perfect weather, perfect company, and perfect fried chicken sandwiches at bakesale betty. m and i people watched while sitting out at one of the ironing board tables. next time, sloppy joe sandwiches!
