i'm getting ready for a trip back to new york and i'm so excited to finally explore brooklyn a little more. with the guidance of brooklyn diary, i think i'll have no trouble finding some great spots. and yes, i am the nerd who prints out the google map pre-trip despite owning an iphone with mapping capabilities. what can i say, i like to be prepared.

any places i should check out in brooklyn or manhattan? the brooklyn museum's keith haring exhibit and moma's cindy sherman show are already on my list of to-dos...

enroute for a 2nd cup of coffee (a rarity for me), i soon discover that 3:30pm marks the best time to walk with your shadow.




fully equipped with coffee, i also realize that the walk back is shadowless and therefore slightly lonely...



so i turn around for one last look and silently mouth to myself, hey girl...

remember this yarn? i decided to knit it into brooklyn tweed's rosebud hat. after finishing a knitting project, i always want to make a couple of tweaks. i'm often left wondering how many versions it will take before i feel like the pattern is right. revise, revise again, revise some more... so it goes.

i can't believe it's warmer in new york right now. i'm longing for some warm weather + sunshine.

a couple of weeks ago at craft night, we tried to draw people from memory. i cheated and perused facebook again. this time, i opted to draw my former intern christine. ever the helpful and intelligent intern (seriously, she was one smart cookie), christine accidentally dropped a plate of cupcakes at our art opening. she then put them back on the plate and kept serving gallery goers. well done chistine... well done.

m found a stack of slides on the sidewalk. i've been having fun imagining how these men ended up on an adventure. i like to think they're childhood friends taking a trip of a lifetime...
