new sock, new yarn, new opportunities to try something different. i feel like i'm getting closer to a better fitting product as i continue to rework my pattern, but it is an ongoing exercise in patience. lately, i've been researching short heel techniques that jenny passed along to me in hopes of achieving a seamless toe - but maybe i'll apply it to a heel as well. i'd love to find a way to avoid those tricky gusset holes, which drive me nuts. as always, more testing to be done...

ReplyDeleteGorgeous yarn!
ReplyDeleteLooking good. The sock yarn is lovely.
ReplyDeleteYou have a very lovely blog, I just found it. Pretty knitting too!
ReplyDeleteSuch pretty yarn.
ReplyDeleteOhhh. Nice. There is nothing better than handknit socks! Short rowing is my fave way to shape a heel, it always turns out perfect(and as long as you wrap, no holes!)
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful sock.
ReplyDeleteDo you check your gauge throughout your knitting?
@melissa - i actually don't check my gauge while i'm knitting, but i'm always thinking about my tension - constantly! i try to check the piece every 4 rows or so to be sure everything is uniform.
