here's what we all made with our fresh fruit...
i made a tiny batch of strawberry jam. there were big plans to do some mass production canning but upon learning of the numerous gadgets and tools needed, it just seemed simpler to go with a smaller albeit perishable batch. leave it to martha stewart's quick strawberry jam recipe to save me from a possible state of overhelm.
erica and alex made the most delicious trifle - a first for me! i'm not sure how i've gone this long without trifle in my life, but i've been craving it all day and dreaming of the hearty slice sitting in my fridge. thank goodness for leftovers and generous friends who happen to be stellar bakers.

I second all nileta said!
ReplyDeletethx la castita! let me know if you have any canning advice should i one day find the gumption to do it (that, or a bigger kitchen in which to manage the canning production).
Deleteoh my goodness. that trifle looks incredible! such a satisfying dessert. so light and airy, i always go back for seconds (and thirds)!
ReplyDeletei ended up finishing my leftover slice last night and am now wishing there were thirds to be had.
DeleteMmmmm, heck yes for strawberry season!
